  • I’ll never forget.

    I’ll never forget.

    I’ll never forget

    our walks down

    empty city streets,

    grabbing each other’s hands,

    gripping so tightly.

    I’ll never forget

    talking all night

    about everything

    and nothing

    as we fell asleep

    to the sky changing colors.

    Even though it’s

    over and there’s

    no more

    “us,”

    I’ll never forget.

  • Friday nights.

    Friday nights.

    Friday nights

    are the best

    with you.

    Whiskey in hand

    by the fireside

    with nothing to

    do and nowhere

    to be except

    in each other’s

    arms.

  • Counting the stars.

    Counting the stars.

    The town lit up
    as the sky turned black
    and we walked down
    the boardwalk,
    hand in hand,
    counting the stars.

  • Wildflowers.

    Wildflowers.

    The way the wildflowers
    sway back and forth
    in the summer breeze
    reminds me of your spirit;
    stay open and free.

    “Wildflowers” – sugar and sandalwood

  • The beach.

    The beach.

    We were sitting on
    the beach, basking in
    the sunshine, and he
    opened the bottle of
    rose and said
    don’t moments like
    these last forever?

  • The last time.

    The last time.

    I lay in bed, gazing
    at the sky as clouds
    roll past. The sun beams
    down onto my face, and
all I can think of is
    the last time we kissed.

“The last time.” – sugar and sandalwood

  • The perfect place.

    The perfect place.

    Isn’t it funny
    how the things
    we want, but
    don’t get
    lead us exactly
    to the perfect place?

  • Time.

    Time.

    And over time,
    you will shed
    the layers of
    insecurities
    and untruths
    that you
    patched onto
    yourself
    like an
    uncomfortable
    quilt.

    “Time.” – sugar and sandalwood

  • Learning to let go.

    Learning to let go.

    I’ve had things
    ripped away from me.
    I’ve given things away.
    Some things,
    I’ve lost.
    And in the end,
    it all remains the same:
    I learned to let go.

“Learning to let go.” – sugar and sandalwood

  • Your worth is limitless…

    Your worth is limitless…

    Your worth is
    limitless,
    like a vibrant,
    fragrant
    field of lilacs
    swaying
    back and forth
    winds
    of the
    spring.

“Your worth is limitless…” – sugar and sandalwood
